The Trammps had a few modest hits on Buddah: “Zing Went the
Strings of My Heart,” which featured Earl Young’s seasoned bass voice
on lead; “Penquin at the Big Apple”; and a disco version of the
Dominoes’ erotic “Sixty Minute Man.”When their contract ended,
Young, Ron Baker, and Norman Harris left to form Golden Fleece
Records, the Trammps’ new home. After a few singles on Golden
Fleece, which were not as good as the stuff here, Buddah brought in
hired gun, disco mix master Tom Moulton to redo the Trammps’
singles and unreleased songs that resulted in The Legendary Zing
Album. The best of the rest include “Hold Back the Night,” “Scrub
Board” (an instrumental), and “Pray All You Sinners.”

Love this album, brings back some real good memories of really good times. Thanks.
The Philly Sound on full display. Jimmy Ellis will be missed by many. RIP
Thank you so much for this album. I was looking for this for a while. Did you know The Game sampled track number 6 “Rubber Band” for his song called “Hate It or Love It”? Little trivia for you.
Thank D0dge57. He’s a member and he brought that with him. Cool, right?
